BAMC, JPC, and H4H – acronyms of awesomeness!

We continued to spend the afternoon cutting, measuring, and nailing fiberglass that was used to waterproof the side of the house. At 4 PM Dusty arrived to take four people back to the dorms. The remaining three of us managed to convince Sam to take us on an adventure to the donut shop across the street. Don’t worry, we brought back donut holes for everyone!

The Mitzvah Corps Costa Rica teens have been working incredibly hard over the past week! Our days in Yorkin working with the Bribri were both challenging yet wonderfully rewarding. The people of the village were so welcoming to us, and Matt (our guide) pointed out that he thought they had bonded more to our group than any other group in the past!

BAMC does the SF AIDS Walk

BAMC does the SF AIDS Walk

Today was the day we were all waiting for: AIDS Walk! When BAMC walked into Golden Gate Park all dressed up with our beautiful capes (you heard me, we had CAPES!) and new swag (AIDS Walk t-shirts) we couldn’t keep the smiles off our faces! The entire experience was awesome as you can imagine; there were over 25,000 people at the walk!

Changing Lives at Daisy

Over the past two weeks I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the happiest campers and most enthusiastic staff members I’ve ever encountered. The atmosphere at Daisy is one that cannot be replicated. It’s one where campers feel free to express themselves and feel accepted by an understanding staff and fellow campers who can relate to their social struggles.
