BAMC by the numbers:
6 hours of sleep
3 hours of bunny butt pulling
30,000 pounds of produce
1,000,000 life-changing memories
Yesterday morning, BRIGHT AND EARLY, we started volunteering. Our first stop was the San Francisco Food Bank,
where we packed carrots and corn into boxes to go to various shelters and soup kitchens. We were able to make friends with another group of young adults, and had a lot of fun packing THIRTY THOUSAND POUNDS OF FOOD. We’re pretty good, yeah. From the food bank we ate our lunches on the way to the bus then met Dusty once again at Baker’s Beach for some Golden Gate Conservancy. Iceplant, bunny butt, and oats were no match for us! Luckily, the ocean knew waterbenders were present and behaved itself. After three hours and lots of dirt, 14 exhausted but happy BAMC-ers headed home.
Volunteering has gotten off to a great start!
