Note: This was written on Tuesday, July 12th!
On Monday, we had to split up our group
Half of us went to the Food Bank and boxed pasta and corn (about 18,232 pounds of vegetables) while the other half of the group went to Alemany farms where we planted tomatoes and pruned lavender in the garden. We came back together after free slurpees from 7/11 and a trip to the mall. After dinner we had a heated discussion about out ideal communities and headed to bead early with building excitement for Tuesday because it is no longer Tuesday, but it is Rebecca’s birthday.
We just wanted to say:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY REBECCA SHUMACHER!
We started out today bright and early with eggs and cereal in the apartment. Then we journeyed to the SF Food Bank for our lats time
We boxed a total of 22,960 pounds of stone fruit! We met some wonderful people on a youth group trip from Washington. Then we crossed town to weed with Iris Clearwater. On the trip we were entertained with stories of Freddie Sez, “Febreeze,” and Nick’n'Norah. While at Lobos Creek, we learned more about San Francisco’s native plants. We picked out invasive plants such as Bunny Butt, Rattlesnakes Grass, and Dandelions. We are going out for Thai food in honor of Rebecca’s birthday. While out to eat, we will finish our 16 singings of ‘Happy Birthday’ at inappropriate times during the day.
