Yotzer-WHAT?!

What the Yotzer means to me is finding brilliance in the mundane, and using the summer program magic to make ordinary moments extraordinary… We know that our participants are here with us, doing activities they could be doing anywhere. But they aren’t. They are choosing to do them with us, and we honor that by creating memories and experience that will last a lifetime. At our fingertips we have capitve audiences, participants who are here because they are looking to have the time of their lives.

Tonight we attended an amazing jazz performance by the Tornado Brass Band at New Orleans’ historic Preservation Hall This was a great way to experience this culture firsthand, as New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz.

Throughout much of the program, students participated in the planning and implementation of activities. Havdalah and the closing programs were no exception. Following our dinner in fine style in the famous Tujague’s Restaurant in the French Quarter, we gathered back at the hotel for Havdalah.
