Giving Someone a Home

Something I know I will take away from this trip is the realization that even though manual labor can be tiring and tedious, it really does add up in the end. Being able to say that I contributed to giving someone their home back is amazing. It is a feeling that will always stay with me.

Mardi Gras, French Quarter, and Birmingham – oh my!

We climbed into boats and toured around the bayous of Louisiana. Our tour guide taught us about the ecosystem of the swamps and all the animals that call it home. The highlight of the tour was seeing Brutus, a 14 foot alligator eat marshmallows off a stick!
