Mardi Gras, French Quarter, and Birmingham – oh my!

We climbed into boats and toured around the bayous of Louisiana. Our tour guide taught us about the ecosystem of the swamps and all the animals that call it home. The highlight of the tour was seeing Brutus, a 14 foot alligator eat marshmallows off a stick!

Greetings from your UMC Staff!

Greetings from the beautiful Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey! I’m writing to you from the air-conditioned basement of Wessels Hall, where I, along with the UMC Site Director Shawn Fogel, Jewish Educator Kelly Chenin, and fellow Student Life Coordinator Andrew Arens, will be spending the next 6.5 weeks. We moved in yesterday morning (although it already feels like weeks ago!) and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our 38 (!) participants!
